One year down...........

A little flashback reference there. I appreciated it at least.

So I am halfway through my second to last week here at work. And maybe more importantly, today is my anniversary. On June 20 last year, I landed in Germany for the first time and got picked up by Steffi in Cologne. We walked around Aachen and then that night I watched a Confederation Cup game in Pontstrasse. And then began the beignning of my vaca.

Although it's now impossible to think of how drastically everything has changed (I just can't relate anymore) some things haven't changed at all. I'm still watching soccer (this time a World Cup game) and will be travling to Berlin in a few weeks. Then off to Paris. Basically, retracing all my steps.

Work is coming along well and I should be ready to successfully complete my project. I feel good because this is the first time in my life (including MIT) where my work is worth anything to anyone. I really have the impression that everything that I have done will actually be read and appreciated by my prof. and the other students working on my project. Plus, today I found out that I paper I wrote got accepted to a conference in biomed eng. So my foot is in the door in the world outside of my lab.

It's great being in Germany during the World Cup. Everyday there are a minimum of 3 games and a celebration somewhere, even here in Aachen, when someone wins. Of course, Germany is well represented and the Brazilians go nuts. Last week, I went out with some of my friends to cheer on the US against Italy. I was one of maybe three americans surrounded by at least a hundred italians. Face painted with American flag borrowed from a friend I was the only one standing during the national anthemn. Funny and I have good pics. :)

Ok, got to go. Keeping it short and sweet. See you all soon.

Just a Quickie

What up.........

New pics of my trip with the parents in Switzerland. Number 14. Check it out!!!

So i'm in wrap-up mode. Really busy with work, writing my final report (in German) so it's taking a while. But I should be finished by the end of June without that much stress that is. Finished updating my resume and sent it out to some mass MIT resume book. Back in the hunt for my next thing to do.....

World Cup starts in three days, Nate comes to visit in about 4 weeks, need to plan my trips after I'm done. I'm too busy. Have a presentation to give about going abroad for some German students on June 27 and then my final presentation for my work in July. It's going to be a rush and before I know it, I'll be home.

Last few weeks I've been partying a lot too, with the friends I have here in Aachen. B-day parties, wedding party. The wedding was pretty dope. I was the guy to catch that garder belt thingy that the groom takes off the bride and throws. Almost hit me in the face. There was a lot of good looking girls, the more I've ever seen at a party in aachen. Weddings are nice.

Also, there's all these new MIT students in Aachen. And they are all coming to the same institute I work at. It's funny, but I've started this whole string of internships. It's wierd though, I am so far away from the time I was first here, it's almost impossible for me to relate even anymore to the newbies. It's scary how much you can change so quickly.

Ok, check out the pics...I'm going to go. I think I'm getting sick.
